Minister Kyne announces €1.2m from the Dormant Accounts Fund to upgrade eight Volunteer Information Services to full Volunteer Centres

Minister of State at the Department of Rural and Community Development, Sean Kyne TD, today (15 October) announced the provision of funding of €1.2m from the Dormant Accounts Fund to upgrade eight Volunteer Information Services to full Volunteer Centres.

This announcement gives effect to the commitment contained in the Dormant Accounts Fund Action Plan 2018, announced by the Minister last July, to provide the necessary funding to upgrade Volunteer Information Services to full Volunteer Centres, in order to provide a consistent level of volunteering service nationwide. €62 million increase in Department of Rural and Community Development budget welcomed by Ministers Ring and Kyne

Budget will increase by €62 million to €293 million in 2019 – a 27% increase

The Minister for Rural and Community Development, Michael Ring TD and Minister of State Seán Kyne TD today welcomed the funding allocations made available to the Department of Rural and Community Development as part of Budget 2019.

The overall level of funding for the Department will increase from €231 million in 2018 to €293 million in 2019.
