The World Community Development Conference 2018 will take place from 24-27 June in Maynooth University, Kildare and is co-sponsored by the Department of Rural and Community Development. The Conference is organised by the Community Work Ireland in association with Department of Applied Studies, Maynooth University and the International Association for Community Development (IACD).
The Conference will provide a unique opportunity for practitioners, participants, academics, policy makers, funders and other stakeholders to share perspectives on current contexts and challenges for community work. It aims to –
- Promote better cross sectoral dialogue and shared understanding of the issues which community development is engaging with in Ireland and throughout the world;
- Further develop relationships between all stakeholders;
- Strengthen capacity among practitioners and policy makers to measure impact and outcomes for communities from community development;
- Increase solidarity; and
- Increase national and international profile for community development.
